RCDA hosted the round table discussion “Violence against Women and Economic Development”

“Rural Communities Development Agency” hosted the round table discussion “Violence against Women and Economic Development” organized by EUMM Mtskheta in cooperation with WECF/Georgia (Women in Europe  for a Common Future/Georgia,  TASO Foundation and  RCDA (Rural Communities Development Agency).  The round table brought together women representatives from different fields, IDP women, decision makers, experts on fighting against women violence who facilitated the interactive dialogues.

The main objective of this discussion was to build a common understanding on violence against women in Georgia, it reflected the causes and risks of violence, participants’ commitment to creating a just and equal society by highlighting ongoing and emerging gender-based violence issues. During the round table the discussions panel was held on the importance of economic empowerment of women to prevent the violence against women facilitated by the representatives of “Sapari”.

Women’s cooperatives and women’s groups from Mtskheta-Mtianeti region exhibited agricultural products produced by cooperative members and the round table discussion participants had opportunity to taste them.
